Hand Woven Napkin/Placemat with Fringing
SIZE | Approx. 60cm x 40cm including fringing.
Woven on a back strap loom and hand finished, this form of weaving takes skill and many hours. The product is a very superior grade cotton with intricate stripes and brocade motifs. The back strap loom is the most ancient of weaving methods and one that many women in remote villages are still incredibly proud of. This particular cloth was woven in the village of San Andreas Loarrainzar where a group of skilled weavers have joined forces with a larger cooperative enabling them to work and make money while staying in their village.
