Enjoy an afternoon sampling the basic techniques of 16th Century Blackwork embroidery in the Montes&Clark shop in Tisbury, Wiltshire.  We will look at the paintings of Hans Holbein a 16th-century portrait painter best known for his paintings of Henry VIII and his children, almost all of whom are depicted wearing clothing decorated with blackwork embroidery.  Sample the techniques on a ring frame or bring your own shirt to embroider, (preferably cotton or linen).

The classes will be taught by Kate Clark, a graduate of The Royal School of Needlework with over 20 years experience of working within the textiles world.  Kate is an experienced teacher and has taught many classes including at the The V&A, The British Museum & The Fashion & Textiles Museum in Bermondsey.

The class will run from 1.30am and finish at 4.30pm.  There will be a maximum of 3 people per class, so you will get lots of attention.  Classes are suitable for age 14 years and above.

Once you have booked the course, I will email you with further details and information.
