A beautiful hand made lamp base, made in Sicily in a contemporary interpretation of a classic Pine cone shape. 

Ceramics made from natural material have been produced in Sicily since ancient times.  Artisans use patterns and themes which are part of the tradition of the land.  In their decorative appearance, Sicilian ceramics are very elementary.  The hands are the fundamental tools of the artisans who model and paint the clay, creating objects that are still contemporary in times of such advanced technology.
