Inspired by the formidable Elizabeth Cobbold of Suffolk (1764-1824) and her legendary papercut Valentine’s ball invitations, Montes & Clark have bridged two worlds to celebrate the intricate craft of paper cutting.
We have collaborated with a master paper cutter in Metepec, Mexico, to translate this English tradition into the medium of Amate bark paper. The result is a stunning series of 12 original artworks, each representing a month of the year.
To complete the ensemble, 'Compton Marbling' has hand-marbled each mount, ensuring that every piece is a unique marriage of historic inspiration and the finest contemporary craftsmanship.
ARTWORK & MOUNT | The artwork and mount can be bought separately sealed in a cellophane envelope. The mount has been cut to a standard A3 size, making it adaptable to be framed in any standard A3 frame.
